Where we work
Sandhurst is our base. From there we work across Camberley, Bracknell and Ascot and the towns and villages between them, on the corner where Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire meet. Put in a postcode to see how far it is from us and which council it comes under.
Four towns
Sandhurst, Camberley, Bracknell and Ascot
Four towns within about seven miles of each other, with very different houses. Each has its own page on what we tend to find there.
Sandhurst, GU47
Our base, and the town we work in most. Central Sandhurst, Little Sandhurst, College Town and Owlsmoor make up roughly 7,500 homes, most of them on estates built from the late 1950s into the 1980s. That is why rewirable fuse boxes, and boards with no RCD protection, are still a common sight here.
Camberley, GU15 and GU16
About ten minutes from us, over the county line in Surrey. Camberley has the widest mix of buildings nearby: Victorian semis and cottages in the older streets, the post-war Old Dean estate, Heatherside, York Town and Frimley, flats and conversions in the town centre, and shops and units from the high street out to the trading estates.
Bracknell, RG12 and RG42
A designated new town, with most of its housing built between the 1950s and the 1970s: Wildridings, Harmans Water, Priestwood, Easthampstead, Great Hollands, Birch Hill, Crown Wood, Bullbrook and Martins Heron. A great many homes of the same age, wired to the same era’s standards, are reaching the same point at once. The town also has offices, business parks and a retail core.
Ascot, SL5
Ascot, South Ascot, North Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale. Large detached period houses and high-value new builds, often several thousand square feet, with outbuildings and long drives, where cable runs get long and loads get big. Most of SL5 comes under the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead; parts of North Ascot come under Bracknell Forest.

Which council
Notifiable electrical work, such as a new circuit, a consumer unit replacement or work in a bathroom, is notified to building control at the council for the address. A registered installer self-certifies the work and makes the notification for you, and you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
Our area crosses three counties and six councils, so it is not always the one you would guess. The checker above tells you for any postcode.

Do you cover my area?
If you are in or near Sandhurst, Camberley, Bracknell or Ascot, or any of the places on this page, yes. For anywhere else, the postcode checker gives a straight answer, and if it says a bit further, ask anyway.
Camberley is in Surrey. Do you work there?
Yes. Camberley, Frimley, Bagshot, Lightwater and Windlesham come under Surrey Heath, just over the county line from Sandhurst, and they are well inside the area we work in.
Why does the council matter for electrical work?
Notifiable work, such as a new circuit or a consumer unit replacement, is reported to building control at the council for the address. A registered installer self-certifies the work and makes the notification for you, and you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate. Keep it with the house paperwork: a buyer’s solicitor will ask for it.
How is the distance worked out?
In a straight line from Sandhurst town centre to the middle of your postcode, using postcode data from postcodes.io. The drive is longer than the straight line, but it shows where you are in relation to us.
Do you do commercial work as well?
Yes, small commercial work across the same area: shops, offices, salons, units and landlords’ common parts. Lighting, boards, testing and fit-out, scheduled around the business.
